Je suis Charlie

Je suis Charlie.

New Whig has always been respectful of Islam and its Prophet. However, we deplore the killing of people exercising free speech. While we would not say it, we uphold the right of others to do so.
Mahmoud Abbas of Hamas and the Palestinian Authority is an utter hypocrite to join the protest march.

Hamas is the same sort of terrorist organisation as al-Qa'ida, Boko Haram and all the other radical Islamists. The attacks on Israel, targeting civilians and the racist propaganda they promote including the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions movement are equivalent to the attacks in Paris, Sydney and so on.

Moslem leaders claiming tolerance and respect for their religion and their prophet on the basis they respect other religions is farcical when compared to the genocidal program to exterminate Israel and wipe out all Jews from the area and their policy that no Jew, in a settlement or otherwise, can live in a future “Palestine”. Christians are equally badly treated.

When will the “progressives” wake up to this and stop siding with the anti-women, totalitarian regimes that adopt radical Islamist Sharia as their law. Is anti-Semitism so ingrained even in atheists, that their hatred of Israel supplants their opposition to totalitarianism.

Islam is a one of the world’s great religions. However they have an internal crisis in confronting modernity and existing in a global world. We hear regular condemnation of terrorism from some Moslem community leaders, but they do not appear to do anything to curtail the radical imams inculcating hate in young people. This is a world problem now, but the solution must come from within the Islamic community. Failure to do so will inevitably end in terrible global conflict.
