Ways of looking at the world.

It is my belief that our physical universe is a four dimensional phenomenon  that moves through time) and that the three dimensional universe that we all perceive is actually just our perception.
This is best understood by thinking of us living in a two dimensional universe.  This has been often used as a way of thinking, including ‘Flatland’, and other fictional and educational descriptions.  If this two dimensional world is just our perception of the three dimensional universe that actually exists, then it would be like looking at the world on the sides of a cube, where there are six ways of looking at the same reality, but seeing it as a flat, two dimensional realm.

If this analogy holds, then our three dimensional perception of the underlying four dimensional universe would actually exist in eight different forms, equivalent to the six sides of the cube.  An alternative interpretation would be to see the three orthogonal directions that form the basis of Cartesian space as looking at the unbounded world rather than on the side of a cube, but accepting that this view, while in the same linear direction can be viewed in two, opposing ways, so that there are six orthogonal directions, with our analogy giving us eight three dimensional universes, that are all simultaneously existing in four pairs of opposites.

It is necessary to see one and minus one as two different forms of unity. The entire Number Line is derived ‘a priori’ from the successive addition of unity to non-existence, and the further manipulation of the so-created ‘positive integers’.  While this Number Line can be extended to include the infinitude of negative numbers, in many relationships there Is no negative equivalent, or the positive and negative relationships are separate and distinct, often mirror images of each other, rotations, or other symmetries.  It is only in our simple minds that we think of the number-continuum extending through ‘zero’ but the truth is that it extends out each way from this central point that is actually non-existence itself; our perception of ‘zero’ as a ‘number’ is to ascribe existence in some ontological form to the essence on non-existence.  This is one of the flaws in the Logical System that purports to deduct ‘reality’ from First Principles.

Having accepted unity and negative unity as separate entities, in the same way we can accept positive and negative electrical and magnetic charges as different, but related entities, then we can go on the understand the square root of unity has four different forms.  While the square of unity is unity, as are all the ‘powers of one’, the reverse perception produces quite a different landscape because there are four forms of Unity that can be squared to give us the same unity.  Now, however, we must include the square root of minus one as also existing as a valid ontological manifestation of Unity.

In Mathematics it is quite common, if not almost universal, to include the number line based on this pair of forms of unity: square root of minus one and negative square root of minus one, and to do calculations in Electronics using oscillating circuits and fields of electromagnetism, one must use what are called ‘complex numbers’, as if this dimension actually existed in our real world, though we are unable to sense it directly with our physical senses.  It is not unreasonable to believe that the actual, real, ‘material’ universe that we somehow exist within (and in ways and for reasons that are beyond present human knowledge we are able to ‘know’ about) includes this higher ‘unreal’ dimension.

This necessitates a tesseractical world-view rather than our existing cubic perception of our environment.  Having eight different ways to perceive this within our three dimensional minds, means that we all have these different ‘universes’ to inhabit, and more important they come in four pairs of opposites.  This is why so many people hold world-views that are inimical to what some other people believe is the only true, possible reality.  It is like looking into one facet of a cut gem, while the other facets reflect different views of the surroundings in a kaleidoscope of apparently different realities, while only the truth, the essence of the whole, lies within.

Bring Back Beats

Now that it is socially acceptable to be homosexual, it should be socially acceptable to tolerate homosexual behaviour.  In the old days, pre AIDS, there were places called beats, where homosexual men could walk around in public and connect.  Now we have apps so people can do it anywhere in public, but there is a lot to be said for designated public beats.

From my experience, it is an old Australian tradition that going down to the riverbank at midnight was a place to meet men.  I never did much with anyone I met, and I don't think many of the men wanted to do much either, just stand in a circle and jerk off.  Mostly, however, men paired off, with some treating it as a race and the first to climax would leave immediately, leaving the other man frustrated.

In the cities, public parks replaced river banks, but they were always times and places where people would not go, or even know exist, except for this one, specific purpose.  Public Toilets became infamous, for example the Honey Pot between St Pats and the Parliament.  Sand dunes were a wonderful place.

In those days, 'gay' meant 'happy' and certainly everyone left a beat happy.  When no one obviously was and everyone possibly could be, and no one had concepts like 'homosexual' even, let alone all the diverse gender identities that have recently surfaced like the sub-atomic particles they keep finding, many men who where on the spectrum from 'gay to straight' would regard it as remaining faithful to their wives as such activity was not sex.

The pay-off for social acceptability is a demarcation, so the sub-set of people who are homosexual becomes a distinct bubble within society, with an impervious outer layer, so people must decide whether they are in or out (though in this case you would be in if you were out)() of the sub-bubble.  The slow gradation between those of different levels of a social quality, such as homosexuality, in all its ramifications, has gone.

However, beats support the principles of personal liberty and acceptance of us being who we are in the public space.  Yet they are separate and isolated places at times.  They should be signposted and protected by the police, not harassed.

Riverbanks were best.  I think that is where I first fell in love with Country.  Perhaps because some of the guys I met up with (at least three that I knew were) were Aboriginal, as one might expect on the beautiful but remote rivers in Australia, back in the days when Old Australia still existed, unnoticed, waiting for the right conditions of freedom.

Legislation needs to reflect public realities.  The Law is like a structure within the Social Bubble.  It provides rigid relationships between various individuals and persists in space and through time

Welcome to the Future.

Years ago, while huddled in what I thought was my imminent death bed, I hoped to live into the twenty-twenties because I thought that decade for the last few centuries seemed to presage what the whole century would look like.  At the start of the last century, cars, planes, moving pictures and phones had all started, but in a simple, minimalist version compared to how the century ended.  Looking back at the History of the last few centuries, the second decade of each century seems to be a transitive one, as though dozens overlap to form tens.

How hysterical that Mr Trump’s Wife’s speech was purloined from Mrs Obama’s speech of eight years ago.  The Trumps are probably not to blame as the speech would have been written for her, apparently by idiots; some apprentice will be sacked soon.  Mr Trump is looking more like the inevitable winner every day.  Hi is riding above a chaotic shamble of all the organisations and social groupings that he leaves in disarray, just like a surfer catching a wave and riding above the turbulence of everyone else left behind his endless, upward trajectory.

We are suddenly seeing how different the new millennium is starting out to be from the way things were in the last few centuries of the last millennium.  A Trump-led America would be a very different place, especially teamed up across The Atlantic with a United Kingdom that is freed from Europe and perhaps also including all the Irish Counties south of the border in a United Ireland within the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland.

The new British Prime Minister, Mrs May, has made it clear that while Brexit means Brexit, it will not happen without the full co-operation of Scotland and Northern Ireland as Brexit will not happen if it means the end of the United Kingdom.  This has never been clearly spelt out.  There must be some irony that has so far gone un-noticed in the result of the Brexit Vote, that may turn out to be the best thing for Britain, Europe and the rest of the Commonwealth.

Turkey is on the verge of making itself ineligible to join the European Union by using Capital Punishment, as sanctioned in the Koran, but no longer considered Politically Correct in Brussels, Paris and Berlin.  Turkey and Australia have a bond sealed with blood, and a Turkey outside the EU but close to Commonwealth countries could become an important ally in our war against Religious Fanaticism.

It would appear that Global Warming is a genuine phenomenon that needs to be addressed.  The great ironic tragedy of this issue is that it has become politicised.  Saving the Planet has become allied with the generality of Left causes.  A contract has developed between the Goddess of Society and Gaya, the Earth Goddess, promising that after The Revolution, when the Left has won the Class Warfare and ended the power of the wealthy, ruling elite, then policies will be instituted to save the environment, just as the dedicated Environmental Activists predict.  The consequence of this can be deduced from the way that different Social Groups develop a Group Psyche with its own sets of values that are not only different from that of other Social Groups, but might also not be universally held by all the individuals that make up the Group in Question.  Logical debate that tries to win over individuals within a social group cannot change the Group Psyche and the consequence is sometimes quite irrational positions on important issues that are held because they are necessary parts of the position held by that social group, and not necessarily belonging to all or even most of the individuals within the group.  Once the Environment was politicised in this way, it became an act of faith that it was wrong to the political opponents.  Without universal support we are doomed.

Environmentalists must start to envisage a world that is lost by the Left in their pseudo-Class-Warfare, and accept a Conservative State, like Patrician Rome if it had worked out as planned without mega-egos getting in the way.  The Environment cannot continue to be the issue that will prove the end of the fight for Social Control, because even if Mr Trump does not win the Presidential Election for Leader of the West (in the Historically inevitable final showdown between East and West that has been brewing for centuries) Social trends appear to be moving in that direction over long time-scales.  Sometimes the great Earthquake is deferred for a few centuries by small, local quakes that relieve the tension in some part or other of the shifting Crust of the Earth, but eventually the underlying motion is too widespread and deep to survive with tiny corrections, and so then the big quake occurs.  Social change may be similar.  This is the issue that could end Class Warfare and begin a universal, harmonious, global society that accepts individual differences and rights, and where the different Social Groups within our wider societal structures accept each other without conflict.

The “Centre” of the Political Spectrum

Trying to remain in the “centre” of the Political Spectrum is a constantly changing balancing act.  At any point on the continuum from politically left to right (passing for the moment what those terms mean) a person can be swept along by the waves and momentum of the collective swell of popular sympathy, but each side is a separate current of thought and they are quite independent so that in the centre one is between two quite different streams or currents, so it is like trying to surf two sets of waves at the same time.

Basic to life is the primal division that the ancient Taoists called Yin and Yang.  The division between masculine and feminine, which does not equate with male and female, is another example.  Even within the “Ivory Tower” there is a basic division between the Sciences and the Humanities.  We have two sides to our brains, that apparently contribute to our thinking processes in different ways, the left being more logical while the right is supposedly more intuitive.  It is not surprising that our Politics should divide into two streams.

Human organisation goes back a long way.  No doubt during the long, last Ice Ace, about a hundred thousand years after the previous short, warm inter-glacial period, people were organised into tribes or gangs or extended families, much as they were up to Feudal times in relatively recent, recorded History.

The authority of the powerful “big daddy”, favourite wife, mother of the heir or chief eunuch must have always been challenged by the rest, whether cousin-brothers challenging their father, daughters-in-law or the Pretorian Guard.   The democratic inclination is not a new phenomenon invented briefly in classical times and recently created but an inherent property of social organisation.   We do not need to be grateful to our elected representatives, judges or anyone else for their gift of democracy, because they are just the manifestation of it, not its progenitors.

The two sides of politics are as necessary for each other as are Debit and Credit in the Double Entry Book-keeping System, that so perfectly reflects the double sided nature of Economic Activity, such as the creation of Monetary Debt where the borrowing and lending are equal, though complications arise with the inclusion of the time dimension.

It could be considered “un-natural” to be a political “centrist”, as if it were a Law of Nature that everyone must take sides.  Certainly, most people do take sides, but that need not be so.  For the sake of future Social Stability, it is desirable that more people move to the centre, even though it is a difficult place to remain.  Everyone could not move to the centre or society would achieve stasis and become stagnant, rather like some predictions of the “end time”. Hmm!  For progress, we need the tug of war between change and stability, but it can be relegated to the periphery, instead of clashing at the centre.  The centre is such an empty space, indeed it is barely a dimension-less line that separates the sides.

New Whig aims for the “broad centre”, which is a much wider area than the old political division between left and right.  Whether people were centre-left or centre-right, they were not foremost centre, but belonged to one side or the other.  There is the Right Wing of the Labor Party, for example, that is “right” on some issues, like family values, but is really far to the left.  Similarly, the so called “Liberals”, who appear to be left-wing, and march with the left on protests, are definitely part of the Structure of Authority.

The broad centre is different from the c-l or c-r, but covers some of the same ground.  The principal difference, also a principle difference,  is not what people are for, but what they are against.  It is the lack of opposition to difference that distinguishes New Whig.

Just because people are different is no reason to oppose them or try to change them.  However this is not to be confused with the rather absurd argument put forward by some Bureaucrats, Academics and others with Social Power, who claim that it is wrong to change any person’s mental perceptions of the world and themselves, as we are all equally entitled to our own beliefs.  This is in contrast to Education and all Didactic enterprises.  It is the silly reason we punish and not reform criminals leading to recidivism not social harmony.  All good Literature and Art surely has a message intended to change the reader or viewer or listener.
