Show your nipples, Ladies!

Show your nipples, Ladies!
It is time that social attitudes towards women’s nipples changed. All the publicity including Miley Cyrus on Jimmy Kimmel's talk show recently has been women’s public perception of themselves but there is a male perspective that could be more far reaching.
Men are sexualised into ogling women’s “boobies” when they reach puberty. It is part of our culture, but it is not universally and not biologically part humanity. We have the absurd situation where being topless in public is illegal, but it is widespread to find publicly hidden pornography including live shows as well as the ubiquitous InterNet.
From an early age, boys are taught that women’s breasts are secret things that they must not see. Of course the forbidden becomes an obsession with most boys. At the stage in life when they become sexually mature they spontaneously experience sexual arousal due to hormone production. Then for the first time, they are exposed to the fully naked female breast at the same time they experience their first sexual union. Therefore the sight of the usually concealed nipple becomes a trigger for sexual arousal that remains throughout life.
There is a particular difficulty in Australia where Aboriginal women have no problem with going topless. In dances and rituals many paint their breasts in “figure enhancing” ways, though of course women everywhere who have nursed a few children have pendulous breasts. In past years, the National Geographic magazine was “porn” for many adolescent boys who ignored the ethnicity of the topless women in the pictures in an age when race officially determined sexuality. For Aboriginal Cultures to be normalised within Australia, women’s breasts need to stop being sexualised by society.
This Western adolescent sexualisation of breasts is not an inherent, instinctive part of the human psyche, but a social construct. It was exported to many so called “primitive” cultures where women “had no shame” and exposed their breasts in public. This is cultural colonialism. The way to overcome this is for women to stop going along with this sham. It was obviously developed by men for the benefit of men. Though history, women bought into the process and developed the décolletage, the cleavage, the bra, pasties and other phenomenon designed to keep nipples the trigger for instant sexual arousal. It was probably very convenient when raping and pillaging after war, as all that was needed was to rip open a blouse and up it goes.
If women want to stop being treated like sex objects they need to change. Do we want a society of sexual adults or sex objects? It has always been the conservative, female belief, inculcated from infancy and enforced from puberty, that the way to stop men was to hide the nipple, because this clearly was the trigger for the animal instinct in every man to be irrepressible. But this is wrong. Women have been duped in this as in many things. It is up to women to change their attitudes to the public exposure of their own nipples. Then, a change in men will follow on, like obedient puppies who suddenly stop salivating and start behaving.
It is the practice of concealing female nipples that has led to the extorted sexualisation of breasts. In gender-neutral settings including work environments, there is still a lot of ogling and other puerile behaviour, but once men grow up and get used to seeing topless women in the normal, day-to-day world, then women will be able to go to meetings and practice their professions or trades in complete equality with men and without sex or gender being an issue in interpersonal relationships.

The #freethenipple campaign is to desexualize the nipple and gain equality and freedom for the female’s chest to be viewed without sexual judgement.

New Whig It is surely an aspect of the Patriarchy that women are expected to impersonate "pert" at increasing inconvenience throughout life, and if some women do it to compete with or impress other women, it is because of the culture of being ashamed of our ageing bodies.

Ice Plague

The "Ice Plague" is the consequence of keeping marijuana illegal. The un-winable, ongoing, profitable war against drugs has been equally profitable for the other side. For each Legal or Medical job that is created by the social distortion created by the self-serving Criminal Justice System there is one "crime boss". Sadly, profit is not the only motive behind our counter-productive laws, there are some stupid, but powerful people, who suffer from Dunning-Kruger, which is the psychological tendency for people with very little actual knowledge of a subject to think they know everything about it. As predicted back in the '70s, if recreational drugs remain illegal, they will grow in popularity due to the untaxed, unregulated "pushers", and will grow in strength because any product or service on the black market tends to the strongest or most extreme version. All the medical and social problems that "drug users" suffer from are the result of the illegality of the drugs not the drugs themselves. This includes the single negative risk of marijuana (compared to the many from alcohol) of a small percentage of people being susceptible to mental problems that can be triggered by the drug, however, the blanket ban on marijuana is uniformly ignored by a significant percent of the population, and that includes those at risk, but within a properly regulated environment, without meaningless social stigma and the inevitability of secretive underground use, those at risk can be targeted and warned, and treated for a health problem not abused as criminals. Far more people are damaged for life by receiving a criminal sentence. The biggest joke are the "Conservatives" who claim they believe in personal freedom with minimal Government interference, but when it comes to the Recreational Drugs of the "lower classes" their true, totalitarian nature is exposed.
THE surge in cannabis crop houses linked to serious organised crime groups is being used to finance the state’s ice trade boom.

low-cost Monarchy

Of particular interest in this article is the comparison between the low-cost Monarchy and the succession of Presidents who all have a large staff and a huge pension for life.
Perhaps now the King is back in Greece, people will be more optimistic and follow his lead. How brave of him to sell up in London and move back to Athens, against the trend. What more can a king do?
As the country faces collapse, its former monarch makes a dramatic choice.

Is Maggie Kirkpatrick guilty? Wait and see

New Whig via Partners in Crime
Is Maggie Kirkpatrick guilty? Wait and see if anyone else is emboldened to come forward with similar accusations. In the other Celebrity cases, the first accusation was then backed up by others who claimed they were also victims. Messagers on the InterNet that rant against paedophiles are basing their opinions on serial and persistent abusers, not someone who may have briefly transgressed once and erased the memory of it.
Being found "guilty" by a judge means very little. Many cases are reversed on appeal, meaning the first judge was wrong. This verdict did not find on fact, but was the judge's personal prejudice in evaluating the persons involved.
Ms Kirkpatrick protests her innocence. People have been wrongly condemned in the past while correctly denying their guilt. With our imperfect Legal System, there may be more, including the celebrity witch-hunt. Australians love to chop down tall poppies, and delight in their demise.
Should a person’s oeuvre of created work be valued when the creator is not? Only recently is the music of Wagner being played by Jews and in Israel, because of his known anti-Semitic values. Fatty Arbuckle was the most popular Holywood comedian before WWI, but when he was accused of rape and murder, even when he was cleared of the charges, his career was essentially over, and while the ban on his films was lifted he is not remembered alongside Chaplin, Lloyd and Keaton as he deserved.
This sad case aside, Ms Kirkpatrick deserves to be remembered for her diverse work on stage and screen, and not have her career tarnished by a single accusation.

Australian actor Maggie Kirkpatrick, who starred as The Freak in the hit television show Prisoner, is found guilty of child sex offences committed 31 years ago.

China's Economic War

China is at war with the West. It's Economic War, and has been going on for decades, undeclared and naively not recognised. It is a dishonest devaluation. Past decades of undervalued currency led to the massive build-up of US debt that was re-lent to the US domestic mortgage market leading to the great crash of '08. The "rest" rather than the "west" should retaliate with a blanket trade tariff, though that is not really possible. It does indicate the declining Chinese Economy, as predicted, and this desperate measure to try to restore Chinese manufacturing and export pre-eminence. China has only recently joined the international community of sovereign countries after centuries of self-imposed isolation. They are not "playing by the rules", but why should we expect them to behave like Gentlemen when they are a nation of peasants. Chinese "culture" now consists in copying the West and becoming the best Western Classical musicians etc. unaware of their own cultural traditions. It must be stressed that we have no problem with individual Chinese people, and welcome the spread of Chinese people throughout the world including Australia, but we do not trust the Communist Government in Beijing, basing its foreign policy on centuries of resentment of Western Imperialism hidden behind the traditional Chinese facade of politeness to strangers.
China’s shock devaluation of the yuan has sent Asia-Pacific sharemarkets tumbling amid fears its economy is weaker than feared and Beijing’s actions could trigger a regional currency war.

Congratulations to Her Majesty, our Queen of Australia

Congratulations to Her Majesty, our Queen of Australia, on attaining the history-book-entry milestone of becoming the longest reigning British Monarch. It is a record than may last forever.
Her Imperial Majesty Queen Victoria is generally remembered as she was in the last decade of her life, when an ageing widow. We have all known our Queen throughout Her Majesty’s lifetime, but history might similarly remember Her Majesty from the next decade to come and beyond.
Republicans who praise Her Majesty and display politeness are like executioners who joke with the condemned. It is macabre and psychopathic to take pleasure in something you want to destroy.
Scottish Nationalism is not a threat to the Monarchy. Scotland can be one of Her Majesty’s realms like Australia.

Racial Discrimination

This is the issue that will lose the referendum. It is a mistake to ban racial discrimination through legal prohibition, even constitutional. Just look at the great success from making recreational drugs illegal. Quite apart from the wider legal ramifications it is the wrong approach. We need to educate Australians in tolerance, especially those who claim it is their right under "freedom of religion" to be bigots. Repressing discrimination will not stop people believing it, just stop them expressing it in public. Aboriginal Conventions will not win over the powerful, vocal minority of Australians who continue to deny that we all live "on Country".
Outsiders visiting sacred Yolngu country in Arnhem Land “may as well be going to Hawaii” if they’re not prepared to get behind a push to ban racial discrimination…

New Whig Racial Discrimination is a symptom of the problem, not the cause. Until Aboriginal people are universally accepted as the first nations of this continent and the custodians of country, discrimination in some form or its equivalent will persist.
